Country Love Story

I have been working on this for a few days and the result is a poem of some of my favorite country song titles. While I did not come up with the titles, this to me shows how writers can take any words and form something with it. Hats off to the writers of these songs that fill me with that haunting, often horrific intensely tragic feeling of love that I wouldn’t trade for my best boots or old pickup truck. Yes I am a little behind (AGAIN) on my daily poetry writing, but as usual I’ll catch up, although I may suspiciously be too busy for my own good…it still feels right somehow. So for your perusal NaPOWriMo submission # 19:

Country Love Story

Man! I Feel Like A Woman
I’m Holdin’ On To Love (To Save My Life)
You’re My Better Half
From This Moment On
You’re Still The One
Would You Go With Me
Somewhere Love Remains
Over and Over

Every Time
As You Turn Away
I Fall To Pieces
Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)
Only You Can Love Me This Way
Need You Now
Love This Pain
Our Kind of Love

Home is Where the Heart Is
Heart of the World
Who I am
A Little More Country Than That
Ready to Love Again
Just a Kiss
A Real Fine Place to Start

Take Me There
Love I’ve Found In You
Help Me Remember
When You Were Mine
Dancin’ Away With My Heart
Making Memories of Us
Stealing Kisses
Like We Never Loved At All
